Training and Fitness

At Next Generation Fitness, we have a range of products and services including Club Membership, One on One and Small Group Personal Training.

The Personal Training Department is responsible for integrating members into the Gym, as well as providing members with One on One or Small Group Personal Training. Our Personal Trainers have a variety of skills and specialities to ensure we meet the needs of our members.

Our Specialities include: Boxing, Strength and Conditioning, Cardiovascular Fitness and Rehab training.
We also provide a range of additional services such as Group Fitness Classes and an Outdoor Exercise Program.

Our Training sessions are half an hour of high intensity training, ideally you should warm up prior to your session with your trainer.

Fee Schedule:

  1. One on One Personal Training $48.50.
  2. Two on One Personal Training $36.00 each.
  3. Three on One Personal Training $30.00 Each
  4. Four or more on One Personal Training $25 each.

Group Exercise classes such as Spin, Boxing, Fitness Camps run periodically throughout school terms.

David Mckernan

From an early age David was encouraged to participate in sport and fitness and this is something he has maintained his whole life. He entered the fitness industry as a gym instructor some 20 years ago whilst studying a Bachelor degree in Applied Science majoring in human movement. With a burning desire to learn more about the body and rehabilitation he extended his studies specialising in Sports and Remedial massage. After running a successful massage business, David additionally was employed by St Kilda football club in their fitness department. David then moved into Personal Fitness training and with Stavros Koufos opening Next Generation Fitness in 2001.

David’s is enthusiasticand passionate about fitness, he has a wealth of knowledge spanning all sports and training methods. He is a keen Richmond FC supporter and loves surfing.

Stavros Koufos

Stavros has a passion for helping clients achieve their goals, whether it’s to lose a few extra kilos or run a marathon. He has extensive experience in strength and conditioning. He has worked in many of the biggest clubs in Melbourne.

Stavros himself has competed at high levels in Athletics for many years and knows what it take to achieve success.

Tom Corrigan

Tom has been involved in the health and fitness industry for 7 years. He has always had a passion for sport and in particular keeping an active lifestyle. Over the years Tom’s has been involved in many areas within this industry, these include sales consultant at Athletes Foot running store, Sports coaching at varied levels ranging from juniors to seniors, and personal training both 1 on 1, 2 on 1 and group sessions.

He finds that the key element to creating a successful relationship with his clients, is to be employ commitment & a friendly environment for all. This helps the clients to achieve any goals they may have. Outside of personal training, he enjoys many hobbies including skiing, body surfing, golf & using his surf ski.

Adam Burgert

Adam is a versatile trainer with a broad range of experience and has a strong sporting background of soccer, tennis and boxing. Adam has been in the industry for 3 years and has a real passion for health, fitness and exercise nutrition. Adam specialises in weight management, strength and conditioning, boxing and nutrition. He has a firm belief that functional training and a balanced diet is the key to a healthy life. Adam’s approach to training will ensure his clients see results both in the gym and in day to day life.
